They Don’t Call Me Bugsy For Nothin’

- Date: sometime this summer
- Location: the wild and wonderful backyard
- I’m feeling: like a lean mean bug-hunting machine
You’re lucky I’m sharing these photos because they reveal my patented bug-hunting technique. I discovered early on that pawing or nosing at bugs was a bit hit or miss, but if I roll over the area where I see the bug with my entire body than I am able to cover a much larger zone thereby guaranteeing a bug-hunting victory. Of course sometimes my parents find little wings on my neck, but that’s also part of the fun. You should see their faces. Pure entertainment.

One of our dogs does this. We call it “the death roll”. Haha!
So cute! My Schipperke does the same thing. She loves to roll upside down especially in warm grass or on carpet. She’s a total carpet beetle!
Does Burger like to eat cicadas? Our chiweenie Phoebe loves that! She will hold it in her mouth until it stops buzzing, carry it around for a little while, as if to flaunt it to the other dogs in the neighborhood, and then finally eat it!
Good question! I have not yet eaten one of those delicacies (although they sound delicious and I love to chase them) but I enjoy cracking acorns open and eating the “meat” inside. Yum.
Oh, Burger… I wish the grass was as green here as it is in those photos. Winter needs to just go away already!! I’m pretty sure you (+ your parentals) are feeling the same way. We had a very brief taste of spring here in NC, but now it’s back to icky coldness and more snow. :( Make it stop, Burger! Pleeeease make it stop!!

Burger, I have to ask you- Do you get along with cats?
In general I like things in this order: babies, all other people, chill dogs, cats, crazy dogs.
I actually do have one cat that I wouldn’t say is my friend, but we “coexist” peacefully when I’m visiting my grandparents. Basically he stalks me around the house but knows to keep his distance. And sometimes I even get to play with his toys and sneak some of his food. Good times.
That’s good to know! My local shelter has many dogs of your breed for adoption and I was thinking about getting one….but I do have a cat.
Are they stink bugs Burger ? My name is Beef and my dads name is Porkchop we are Jack Russell Terriers and we love to roll on the stink bugs, smelly and yum !!!
I don’t know if we have stink bugs here. I prefer lightning bugs and ladybugs and even crickets. I got skilllz.
