Treats: Are Those For Me?

What’s wrong with this picture?
Why are all of those yummy-delicious-oh-my-goodness-I-must-have-one-now treats in that container and not in my belly? Maybe I’ll get one once I finish being a good boy and telling you about this dog treat isolation chamber that you can win from Whitewash Sundries (the generously treated me with one- but it’s holding my goodies hostage!).
Just like the stuff my parents are giving away on their blog from Whitewash Sundries, this hand-etched stuff on glass is pretty cool (except for the fact that all my treats are highly visible so they taunt me as I stare at them longingly). Anyway, for this dog-themed giveaway, they put the first initial and silhouette of the dog you intend to tease with this look-but-don’t-touch canister. Cool right? And yes, also a bit cruel. Just be sure to remove a tasty morsel or two and give it to your four-legged friend on the regular.

My Ellie LOVES ice cubes. Everytime she hears someone getting ice she stops what she’s doing and bolts to the kitchen to beg for some. Pretty sure she prefers them to all other treats!

Our furball Hurley is loving on cheese, and he’s currently learning to catch it in his mouth when we throw it to him… but has only gotten to opening his mouth in the general direction.
GIMME GIMME! :) Our beagle/lab mix LOVES his Snausages treats. Although he will give a high five or shake your hand for any yummy treat. (And who can resist those cute eyes…)

My kittens love fish flakes, either the ones meant as cat treats or the ones sold as bonito flakes for making your own miso.
Gimmie Gimmie! The amazing Boston Terrier Bindi approves of Old Mother Hubbard biscuits for when she is feeling healthy, Pupcorn for when she is not, and any soft meat flavored treat really any other time. Oh and don’t forget Bully Sticks, the equivalent of doggie crack! To get a treato, she must do one of these: sit, give a smooch, jump up and give a double 5, or give us her paw. Usually she does all of the above.

Our favorite treats are really anything that’s edible! Sometimes our Mommy even sneaks in our regular dog food, which she thinks we don’t know, but we know it. We can sit, lay down, or shake your hand for a very special treat. I bet if my parents had a special dog container they might give us special treats more often!!!

Our girls love any type of food, but they don’t realize that they are rarely given anything but dog food/treats or occasional fruits and veggies. However, they love when we say “uh-oh” – they come running to the kitchen.

My Lucy loves bites of banana which she gets just because, and she loves Sprinkles dog safe cupcakes which she usually has to do all of her tricks to get :)
GIMME GIMME! Our little girl jillie loves Charlee Bear treats. We put them in a treat ball and she pushes it around with her nose to get them out. So cute!
GIMME GIMME! baxter loves peanut butter, i swear he can hear you take the jar out of the pantry one floor away, he just knows. he also loves dried sweet potatoes from target. he will do pretty sit ( up on his behind) for anything!

We just got Our baby girl Bella. She is so very smart, she is 3 months old. She is already housebroken, sits, stays and lays down. Of course she gets spoiled with lots of treats. The treat bowl would be perfect because right now the treats are in their original bag.

my little dachshund Ammo is a sucker for rawhides. Rawhides that he buries in our bed, under carpets, and in the couch. He’ll do anything to get his little paws on them, but his favorite trick by far is playing dead.

Morgan (Black and Tan Coonhound mix) loves peanut butter, dog biscuits and anything else she can get a hold of.
Bowser (Black Lab / Great Dane mix) loves some peanut butter, and any type of bread he can pull off the counter (bagels, hot dog buns, sandwich bread, you name it…)

GIMME GIMME! Buddy, our miniature dachschund loves to play his “game.” His treats are are hidden around a room and he has to sniff around to find them all. He always manages to find them all and usually in record time!

Our dog just loves food in general. When we give her treats, our favorite thing to have her do is “give me five.”

Sadie likes cookies that look like human cookies (chocolate chip and sandwich type cookies) and definitely peanut butter! She will dance, crawl, bow, shake, and high 5 for treats :-)

My favorite treats to give to my 2 corgis are Charlee Bear liver and cranberry flavored treats, ice cubes, and Eagle Pack Holistic Select Natural Chicken Dog treats. They can give high fives, roll over, spin, wave, sit, leave the treat alone with the treat on their paw, or even a combination of any of their tricks to get that one delicious treat.
Gimme Gimme!! Dakota loves any treat – but salmon strips is probably her favorite. Rawhides are my favorite to give her because they don’t disappear in one gulp! (she is a golden retriever)

Our girls Callie and Sarah, both Golden Retrievers, will run to the kitchen for just about anything…milkbones, ice cubes, pieces of hot dog, cheese, pieces of paper, garbage cans that were left with a lid off….
They love their normal sit and stay, but their favorite trick is to “pound it”

All Barkley (standard dachshund) has to do for a treat is bat his beautiful big brown eyes and I’m a sucker. But he’s trying to slim down his figure so lately he’s been getting baby carrots and celery instead of his favorite jerky treats.

the pup is allergic to many things. he LOVES popcorn but i think he might be allergic to corn; i guess it’s a common dog allergen? i get locally made treats that have, literally, 5 ingredients, and he likes ‘em. those and the bits of jarslburg lite swiss he gets as training treats. :D to get those, he must look at another dog while on leash and….remain calm. or at least refrain from barking and lunging psychotically.
it’s a tall order.
