Treats: Are Those For Me?

What’s wrong with this picture?
Why are all of those yummy-delicious-oh-my-goodness-I-must-have-one-now treats in that container and not in my belly? Maybe I’ll get one once I finish being a good boy and telling you about this dog treat isolation chamber that you can win from Whitewash Sundries (the generously treated me with one- but it’s holding my goodies hostage!).
Just like the stuff my parents are giving away on their blog from Whitewash Sundries, this hand-etched stuff on glass is pretty cool (except for the fact that all my treats are highly visible so they taunt me as I stare at them longingly). Anyway, for this dog-themed giveaway, they put the first initial and silhouette of the dog you intend to tease with this look-but-don’t-touch canister. Cool right? And yes, also a bit cruel. Just be sure to remove a tasty morsel or two and give it to your four-legged friend on the regular.

Gimmie Gimmie! (Please). Winston LOVES dried salmon treats, and will go through his entire arsenal of tricks in succession without prompting (sit, high five, heel and roll over). It’s hysterical!

Our Puggle Chase loves Bully Sticks. He will sit, lay down, roll over, play dead, high five and show you his left and right paws for one of these.

My three heathens love their homemade gingerbread treats that I whip up for them now and again. They always sit perfectly when they see the ziplock bag come out. But sometimes, just them being cute will earn them one. :-)

Carl’s (our 88lb American Bulldog) favorite treat is the Busy Bone. First he tries to bury it anywhere in the house..like behind the humidifier! Weird! And then later in the day he “digs” it up and throws it around for a good ten minutes before he settles down to chew it up.
GIMME GIMME! I need a place to keep my treats from Purrs and Gurrs, a local pet bakery here in Fishers, IN. All the treats are made with human grade food, and they have a glass counter that I steam up when I press my face against it. The owner says it’s OK though!
To earn these tasty morsels, I high-five, shake hands, lay down, or go potty.

Jack prefers all natural chicken treats… he can sit, stay, shake, and sit pretty! and he is still a puppy!
Gimme gimme! Our Boston Terrier, Izzy, perfers Milk Bone “training treats” and will sit, lay down, stand up (on her hind legs) shake – left pawed (???) and dance to get one.
Gimme Gimme! Our lab is fanatic about pork products. She doesn’t discriminate when it comes to pork! She will do any (and all) trick in her repertoire in order to earn a “T” as they are known in our house.

Trixie LOVES the dried chicken pieces, and she also does the “here’s my paw, aren’t I cute” trick.

Our pet’s favorite treat is anything that comes from our hands! She will jump, roll over or fetch for a treat.
GIMME GIMME! I love Greenies and Kongs stuffed with peanut butter and milk bones. Yum! Almost makes me crave my crate. My mom would love to see a beagle silhouette on one of those jars …

Gimme Gimme! Our three pups love dried beef lung…sounds gross to me, but they’ll do just about anything for it!
GIMME GIMME! Our new little italian greyhound puppy is in the process of being house trained. So having yummy treats on hand is a necessity. She KNOWS that she gets a treat for going potty, and sometimes she will go and sit by the treat jar and look at me like … “arent you going to give me one” Its too cute! I of course think she is the smartest cutest dog ever!

My pit/lab mix Cole gets Nutro treats when he’s good or when we feel guilty about something (taking him to the groomer? Guess who’s getting a treat). They’re the only ones that don’t result in room-clearing gas.

I give my doggies, Lucky and Sara, a treat in the morning when we get up, when I get home from work and one before bed. Lucky dances for me and Sara sits for me. The take the treat ever so gently. They are true ladies (except when Sara grabs my arm and does you know what!)

This prize is great! Sadie loves ALL treats, really, but she is especially fond of anything with mint in it…or people food! And all she really needs to do to get a treat is look cute…which she really has no problem with!

This would be a perfect homecoming present for the new addition to our family – our fence is being built this week and as soon as it is finished, we are heading to the shelters to find a dog to rescue and bring home to join the family!
GIMME GIMME!! I love giving my girls Happy Hips from a company called Dogswell. They are great! Happy hips have glucosamine in them and they are all natural! They have lots of different kinds- you should check them out!
GIMME GIMME! My golden pup loves herself some homemade peanut butter treats that I whip up. She’s still learning commands, so we use them for reinforcement.

Beckham’s favorite treats are cheesy ones from the local dog shop. They make them there. He can’t get enough of them, so that’s why he sits patiently when his hair needs to be brushed.

My dog’s favorite treats are Beggin Strips or any type of “people food” and she’ll do pretty much anything to get either of them!
GIMMIE GIMMIE, por favor! We live in Mexico 6 months a year and in our small village, dog treats are hard to come by. In California, Rio likes Meaty Bones and in Mexico he likes bites of Exquisitos (hot dogs). He earns treats by doing a great sit-down-sit.
GIMME GIMME :) Starbucks and Bailey love any treats- especially breakfast bites and scrambeled eggs with cheese :)
“GIMME GIMME” My Lab/Rott & Am. Bulldog both love fried pork rinds, ice cubes and jerky.
Gimme Gimme! Our little terrier surprisingly only eats organic dog treats. He won’t go near anything that smells like bacon, or peanut butter.

Roxie loves anything that we give her. She is definitely not a picky eater!
Sully, our Pembroke Welsh Corgi LOVES Natural Balance rolls, cut up into tiny pieces. Well, I’m sure he’d love if we just gave him the entire roll but this is what we use as rewards for obedience and rally so it’s tiny pieces! He loves the lamb and the duck flavors.
“GIMME GIMME!” Corgis love CHEESE treats! They must sit down in unison (there are 4 girls!), and roll over at the same time. So fun to watch!

My two furballs love carrots. Weird. They will do practically do anything. Like sit still and stay while I prance around the kitchen holding little carrot slices. If only my parents had this much luck with me to get me to eat veggies…

Our dogs love to get popcorn when my husband and I are watching a movie. All they have to do to get some is snuggle in with mommy and daddy! :)
GIMME GIMME! Herman, like all Corgis, loves anything edible. He currently stalks the cats and waits for them to drop cat food on the floor.
GIMME GIMME a rawhide chew. It’s our dogs’ favorite! It’s their reward for behaving well on a walk.
