Yes, I called to check about adopting and she said the park closes on Dec. 31st, 2009 but they will stay open until all of the dogs have a home. She also told me they are a non-euthanizeing state. That makes me feel so much better! I actually checked in and we are thinking hard about adopting one. Thanks Burger :-)

Hi Burger! My dog Jake and I love reading your blog. We’re from Racine (the next town over from Kenosha) and while Loren is right (the dogs won’t be euthanized), those pooches definitely need forever homes. Hey Loren and Kate,

Whew! That is good news indeed! Over ten people emailed me to ask that I do a post about saving the greyhounds so I was happy to do my doggy duty and spread the word. Either way finding these guys a forever home is always the name of the game (whether they’ll be put to sleep or not, don’t all dogs deserve a warm and happy home?!). Here’s hoping they all get a loving family for Christmas! Oh and I’ll be updating the bottom of the post to reflect this new info. Thanks for the heads up!

No need to worry Burger – these greyhounds will be fine! I’ve seen this around too but it is largely FALSE! While the track will be closing down, none of the dogs will be euthanized (per WI law). They are up for adoption though and need great homes!
