We Have To Save Gigi!

When Shelly dropped me a line about a pretty little pooch in need I couldn’t wait to spread the word in hopes of finding Gigi a fabulous family to snuggle up to. Here’s Shelly’s letter:

I’m writing because we need your help.  I work with PAWS Rescue of Northern Virginia and our little Gigi really needs a home. Gigi is a 5-6 month old American Bulldog mix. She came to us completely emaciated and we helped her pull through but she didn’t completely heal. Gigi contracted distemper and it caused her to lose almost all muscle control in her body. She’s made great strides though- she can walk around now and even plays a bit. She loves attention and is happy to curl up on your lap. While she has really progressed, she has a ways to go. Gigi will most likely never regain control of her bladder. She knows exactly what to do, but most of the time she can’t quite make it.  Gigi loves her crate and gets along beautifully with her foster brothers and sisters. Nothing would make her happier than to find a forever home of her own. If you can help Gigi by giving her a loving home please contact PAWS Rescue at info@pawsrescueva.org. You can also visit our website at www.pawsrescueva.org to view all our available dogs. Thanks Burger for your attention and love to animals everywhere! – Shelly

Isn’t Gigi a looker? She definitely sounds like the perfect pal for someone out there, so spread the word and let us know if you or someone you know might be the peanut butter to her jelly. Let’s find the lovely Gigi a home!

Update: It is with a heavy heart (sniffle) that I share the news that Gigi recently took a turn for the worse and after a long spirited battle she passed away on December 4th. But although I’m all choked up about it I do know that she’s in a better place. All dogs go to heaven, right? And I hear that all the squirrels there are easy to catch and there are treats around every turn. I’ll miss you Gigi!

burger, it’s so nice to see you help fellow furry friends! we were found in a pile of trash under a mattress in a creek bed and were rescued and taken in by our mom and dad–we couldn’t be more grateful! sometimes doggies and kitties have to band together to save each other!

What a beautiful dog! Best wishes helping Gigi out, Burger!

If Indiana were a little bit closer, I’d convince my mom and dad to let her be my little sister- Loki

This makes me want to cry….I feel like you can see all she has been through in her little eyes and I want to take her home…I could never offer her the home she needs though – I commute four hours a day and am out of the house for too long to be fair to her – can you post an update as to where she ends up – I love her little face!!!!

Hey Johnna,

I definitely plan to post an update on Gigi as soon as I hear anything. Paws crossed that she finds the home she deserves!
