I think, Burger thinks it’s a girl. Everytime you say “she” or “girl” he turns his head. I think Burger is getting a baby sister.
ADORABLE! My Lola does the same head-cocking thing when we ask her questions, and I like to think she blinks to say “Yes.” So if Burger does the same thing, he thinks the baby is a boy with blue eyes who will give him lots of crumbs — but also that the baby will be a girl, and a ballerina. Mixed messages :)
I wish I could get Hamlet to cock his head like that! The closest he gets is anything in any kind of packaging is being opened because he automatically thinks it’s food for him and sits down to receive what he thinks is always due to him. The burp was my fave part, glad you included it.
Oh Burger!
Ask your parents to put the newborn little one right on the kitchen floor for you to meet upon arrival home from the hospital. Your parents can sit right there on the floor with you while you while you sniff and inspect and study those little noises. Feel free to give them the “what is this?” look as you get closer.
This is a tradition in our family and all of the dogs have loved it. Our dogs were told, “This is your baby. You have to look out for the baby and be its very first friend.” They took this job very seriously and were always there for a cuddle, a nap, a game or to share a small cookie. One of them even let us take ornaments from a Christmas tree and “decorate” them while they “napped”.
You will love your new baby, Burger! You may be meeting your new best friend!
Upon scientific analysis, burger thinks you’re having a ballerina girl with green eyes, and he’s a little apprehensive about his new responsibilities as a big brother.
Love it! Roxie (our little pup) does this, too, Burger. It has a very technical name in my house. We call it “tilty head.” Good tilty head, Burger!

I dunno, I think Burger was confused at the questioning because the baby girl is going to grow up to be an astronaut! Or maybe the baby boy is going to eventually be a ballet dancer and Burger was pondering which term would best to use – the French say “danseur”, Italians go with “ballerino” and the American Ballet Company uses “cavalier”

Well I have to disagree with above scientific analysis. Our data machines have determined Burger thinks it will be a girl astronaut (none of this gender-specific profession stuff) with blue eyes :)
Great video! I adore Burger and he has made me fall in love with Chihuahuas. That head tilt just made me like him more. He definitely needs to do more interviews – he has so much to say about the world :)
It’s true. I have so much to say about so many things. And now that Oprah has announced that she’s ending her show in 2011 maybe there’s room for a talk show with my name on it…

HILARIOUS! Our Boxer does this with his head all the time and we absolutely love it. Just goes back and forth from side to side, but really only when we talk in the same voice that you are in the video. Totally just made my day!
Hey Burger, has anyone ever told your mommy that she sounds like Mila Kunis? It’s uncanny! Oh, and you look pretty cute when you cock your head from side to side!
That’s funny because someone told her that she looked like Mila Kunis once but never that she sounded like her (although she usually gets Rachel McAdams) . I’ll have to tell her.
